Prechard Mhako

Prechard Mhako is a business development expert with over 10 years of business & entrepreneurship experience. He is a sought after Startup Consultant, business growth and turnaround strategist who has consulted for a wide range of industries helping businesses to develop concrete, actionable strategies for better access to markets and finance.

In 2013 he served as business development consultant to one of Zimbabwe’s biggest football Clubs, CAPS United FC. In 2016 was involved in the maiden Aliko Dangote visit to Zimbabwe. In 2019 he was selected for the  Mandela Washington Fellowship program where he spent 6 weeks at the University of Iowa visiting and studying global big brands like John Deere, Collins Aerospace, Frontier Co-op just to mention a few. He spent his last week in Washington DC, expanding his network and connecting with African entrepreneurs.

Some of the start-ups that Prechard has consulted for include Yanaya Lifestyle (a fast-growing healthy food restaurant chain in Zimbabwe), Value Chain Farming Africa Botswana (Botswana’s largest network of farmers), Eshagi (A Fintech Startup) and Energyneering Zimbabwe (An Emerging Clean Energy Start-up).

Some of the projects he has worked on include the appraisal of a US$16 million dollar shopping mall for the Construction Industry Pension Fund (where he was employed), enlisting Astro Mobile Africa onto key e-commerce platforms like Jumia and TakeALot.

Prechard holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Management, an Honours Degree in Banking and Finance. He has undertaken various other qualifications including A project Management Certificate from the University of Zimbabwe, Wily Brand’s Internationally acclaimed Leadership Challenge and the University of Iowa’s flagship entrepreneurship course called Venture School.

He is a member of the German based entrepreneurship ecosystem, DueDash where he is City Leader for Harare. He also runs a private business development consulting company that helps start-ups. He is a 2019 Mandela Washington Fellow as well as a Member of the Institute of Directors Zimbabwe.
